NZ Hair and Beauty Industry Training Organisation Inc (HITO) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Summary
As part of the development of new qualifications and programmes for the beauty industry, HITO’s Beauty Advisory Group reviewed the standards listed above.
The review of these standards has resulted in new and replacement standards with updated outcomes and performance criteria that reflect current industry practice, and align the required skills and knowledge with the graduate profile outcomes in the New Zealand Diploma in Beauty Therapy (Level 5) [Ref: 3445].
Main changes
· Entry information, guidance information, outcomes, performance criteria and range statements were updated for standard 19598 to ensure a fit with current industry practice.
· Six standards were replaced by five new standards.
· Nine standards were designated expiring without replacement as they no longer fit with industry needs.
· Seven new standards were developed to reflect current industry practice and required skills and knowledge.
· A last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B standards was determined. Results will not be accepted where the assessment date is after the last date for assessment of the superseded version of the standard.
Category C and D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2020
The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standard is December 2019
