Summary

 

MITO has reviewed the unit standards listed above at the request of industry to align them with the automotive and/or industrial textile fabrication industry qualification suites.

 

This review has resulted in fit-for-purpose assessment material being made available to industry that reflects current legislation and industry practice.

 

MITO’s industries working group endorsed the unit standard review. The working group includes subject matter experts and representatives from industry and MITO. The unit standards were circulated in the working group’s greater networks and all feedback was actioned where appropriate.

 

Main changes

 

·         Title, guidance information, outcomes and performance criteria for unit standards 15408 and 21708 were amended to reflect current legislation and regulatory requirements, industry practice and recommendations, and to clarify their intent.

·         The level of unit standard 15408 was increased from Level 1 to Level 2 to improve alignment with the Level Descriptors.

·       Unit standards were transferred onto the current template.

·      The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2020.
