Summary

As a result of the Targeted Review of Qualifications process, MITO reviewed one standard and created two new standards for the stevedoring and ports industry.

MITO was supported by the industry’s working group which included subject matter experts from several New Zealand ports, industry and MITO representatives.  The standards were also circulated to the working group’s networks and all feedback was actioned where appropriate.

Main changes

· Guidance Information, credits, outcomes, performance criteria and range statements in standard 20166 were amended to reflect current practice.

· Level of standard 20166 was increased from 2 to 3 to better align with the Level Descriptors.

· Standard 20166 was transferred from CMR 0145 to CMR 0014.

· Two new standards were developed for container maintenance.

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of the Category B unit standard is December 2020
