Summary

The three standards have been revised to correct industry terminology and to remove barriers to assessment.  Changes were endorsed by a panel of leading Avalanche experts.

Main changes

· Standard 30451 – performance criteria 1.1 and 1.2 were merged as they both covered          avalanche characteristics.  Performance criterion 1.3 was amended to reflect scope of practice   at this level.

· Standard 30453 – performance criterion 1.4 was amended as it narrowed assessment unnecessarily.

· Standard 30454 – range statements were removed from performance criteria 1.1 and 1.2 as            they directed assessment.
