Revision and rollover of Sociology unit standards

NZQA National Qualifications Services has completed the revision and rollover of the unit standards listed above.

Summary

Following confirmation from stakeholders that a full review of the Sociology unit standards was unnecessary, the standards were revised, and rolled over to extend their currency on the Directory of Assessment Standards.

Main changes

· The merit and/or excellence grading criteria were revised (but not changed) in standards 8994-8995, 8998-8999, and 28120-28121, to allow for more holistic assessment.  These revisions have the strong support of stakeholders.

· All standards were revised to conform to the new required format and nomenclature.

· The planned review date was rolled over to December 2021.

· The standards were transferred from CMR 119 to CMR 226.
