Skills Active Aotearoa has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published November 2019
Planned review date December 2024
Summary
The review of these unit standards was prompted by the outcomes of the mandatory review of qualifications, specifically the listing of:
· New Zealand Certificate in Cycle Skills Instruction (Level 4) with strands in Beginner Skills, Intermediate Skills and Advanced Skills. [Ref: 4092].
Feedback from stakeholders was gathered through an open consultation process and used to guide the development of the industry training programmes for the qualification above, and the development and review of the associated unit standards.
Main changes
· One new standard was developed to meet explicit health and safety considerations for cycle skills training sessions.
· Standard 26544 was replaced by a new standard.
· All standards increased from Level 3 to Level 4 to better align with the NZQF level descriptors and industry practice.
· The credits reduced from 6 to 5 for standard 26545 to better reflect the actual time taken to learn and demonstrate competency.
· The credits increased for all other standards to reflect the addition of new content and evidence expectations.
· Guidance information, outcomes and performance criteria updated to reflect current industry practice and to align with the new qualification that they will lead towards.
The Category C unit standard will expire at the end of December 2021
