Summary of review and consultation process |
|
The review group encompassed representatives from an industry training organisation, wānanga, polytechnics, tourism business operators, iwi groups, and national and regional tourist operators, to ensure the qualifications meet current and future needs. Wider consultation was sought via the NZQA website for feedback from the industry, whānau, hapū, iwi, and other interested parties for a period of four weeks. |

Main changes resulting from the review |
|
Changes were made to the Strategic Purposes Statement to encourage inclusivity and diversity across the tourism sector, to also increase the uptake of the qualifications and to alleviate confusion for users in regards with local tikanga practice; Changes were made to the guiding principles to clarify Te Taiao from a Māori world view within a tourism context. Pūkengatanga was added to the guiding principles to encourage innovation of new skills and technologies in conjunction with old and new knowledge. Employment, Cultural, Community pathways information have been updated and revised for clarity. |
