Summary
A demand was identified for training in the production of nutritional products in dairy processing operations.
Stakeholders in dairy processing companies were consulted by phone and conference call on the requirements of this new area. Unit standards were developed and reviewed to meet the need.
Reviewed unit standards and one new unit standard were sent out to all dairy processing companies who are involved with the production of nutritional products. Feedback was taken into consideration where appropriate when updating unit standards.
Main changes
· Powder bins was added to the definition of holding and storage equipment as an additional example in unit standard 20002.
· Powder transfer was added as an equipment option for unit standard 20012.
· A new unit standard was developed for knowledge of the processing of nutritional products.
The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2022
