The Primary ITO has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published September 2019
Planned review date December 2024
Summary
As a result of the review of the New Zealand Certificate in Primary Industry Skills (Level 2) with optional strand in Self-Management and Employability Skills [Ref: 2218-2], and the New Zealand Certificate in Primary Industry Operational Skills (Level 3) with optional strands in Specialist Equipment, and Infrastructure [Ref: 2215-2] Primary ITO has reviewed unit standards to better reflect the qualification outcome requirements.
Consultation was carried out in late September 2018 where providers with consent to assess had the opportunity to give feedback via an online survey. This feedback was addressed where appropriate.
In addition to this submission, a new unit standard was developed within the Animal Care domain to meet the training requirements for people who assist with a marine mammal stranding.
Main changes
· 11 unit standards were reviewed to reflect current industry requirements.
· Two new unit standards were developed relating to health and safety, and personal wellbeing in the primary industry at Level 3.
· One new unit standard was developed to meet the training requirements relating to assisting with a marine mammal stranding.
