MITO New Zealand Incorporated (MITO) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.

Date new versions published                                                               August 2019

Planned review date                                                                              December 2024

Summary

MITO has reviewed the unit standards listed above and developed new unit standards at the request of industry.  The unit standards were reviewed and developed to align with the suite of automotive qualifications at Level 3 and Level 4 on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework (NZQF).

This review has resulted in fit-for-purpose assessment content being made available to industry that reflects current legislation and industry practice.

MITO’s outdoor power equipment industry working group endorsed the unit standard review.  The working group included subject matter experts and representatives from industry and MITO.  The unit standards were circulated within the working group’s wider networks and all feedback was actioned where appropriate.

Main changes

·      Reviewed unit standards were amended to reflect current legislation, industry practice and recommendations, and to clarify their intent;

·      Six unit standards were designated expiring without replacement as they are either no longer required by industry or they are covered by other standards on the NZQF;

·      11 new unit standards were developed to meet industry requirements.

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2020

Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2021
