The Primary ITO has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published December 2019
Planned review date December 2024
Summary
Unit standards were reviewed during February and July 2019 through face-to-face meetings and email, by the External Working Group (EWG) which comprised representatives from industry, providers and the NZ Wool Classer Association and New Zealand Shearing Contractors Association. The EWG consulted on the unit standards and discussed and agreed to incorporate recommended changes. Revised unit standards were then sent to Consent to Assess holders in August for feedback. Changes were incorporated where appropriate in consultation with the EWG.
Main changes
· Unit standards were updated to reflect current industry practices.
· Titles of nine unit standards were amended to more closely reflect the content.
· 20 unit standards were designated expiring and will not be replaced as they are no longer required or their content has been further embedded in other existing standards.
· The credits for unit standards 15044, 20106, 20107, 20111, 20112, 20115, 20116 and 20316 were changed to more accurately reflect the time taken to learn, practice and be assessed for the skills in the unit standards.
· Unit standard 20315 had a reduction in credits to better align with the time required to achieve the skills set out in this standard.
· Three new unit standards were developed.
Category C and D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2023
