Summary
As a result of the qualification review process for the New Zealand Certificate in Primary Industry Skills (Level 2) with optional strand in Self-Management and Employability Skills [Ref: 2218], Primary ITO has reviewed these unit standards to better reflect the requirements of the outcomes listed in new version of the qualification.
Consultation was held in late September 2018 where providers with consent to assess had the opportunity to give feedback via an online survey. This feedback was addressed where appropriate.
Main changes
· 26 unit standards were reviewed to reflect current industry requirements.
· Two unit standards were replaced by a new standard as the performance criteria were not consistent with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015.
· A new unit standard was developed to meet the need for new entrants to the primary industry sector to have knowledge and skills related to water systems.
· Some unit standards in the General Agriculture and Production Horticulture domains were reclassified into the Primary Sector Core Skills domain (see table below).
Category C unit standards will expire at the end of December 2021
