The Primary Industry Training Organisation has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published February 2019
Planned review date December 2023
Summary
Unit standards were reviewed to meet current industry practices. The review was initially carried out in consultation with poultry industry specialists who had in-depth understanding of the requirements of their particular sectors – poultry egg production, poultry hatchery, or poultry rearing.
Unit standards were then sent out for wider stakeholder consultation in mid-November 2018. Feedback was incorporated where relevant.
Main changes
· 21 unit standards were reviewed and re-registered;
· The content of six unit standards changed significantly and the standards were replaced;
· Titles of theory unit standards were amended to more closely reflect the type of assessment required;
· Credits changed for five unit standards to accurately reflect the time taken to learn and be assessed on the outcomes in the unit standard;
· One unit standard was developed to meet the requirements for trainees involved in poultry rearing.
Category C unit standards will expire at the end of December 2019
