Summary

Primary ITO has reviewed these units and established that the competencies described therein are industry requirements for level 4 learners.

The mechanism for consultation was through an education working group established by NZPork. This group comprised farmers, educational specialists, veterinarians, a NZPork board member and a Primary ITO Education Designer.  Consultation was conducted by the ITO and working group members via face to face meetings, electronic feedback and through members accessing their network of stakeholders.  Feedback was evaluated by a subject matter expert (Massey University Lecturer in Pig husbandry) and the Primary ITO.  All major changes were submitted to, and approved by, the working group.

Main changes

Seven standards were designated expiring without replacement as they were no longer required.

Category C and D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2022
