Summary

The Skills Organisation and the rigging sector held three meetings to discuss the graduate outcomes and conditions that had to be met for the rigging qualifications.

Main changes

·      Unit standards 4212 and 4213 changed from Level 2 to Level 4 to reflect role competencies for intermediate rigging work.

·      Unit standards 4214 and 4215 changed from Level 3 to Level 4 to reflect role competencies for intermediate rigging work.

·      Credit values of unit standards 4212-4215 were changed to accurately reflect the time taken for the role competencies of an intermediate rigger.

·      Unit standard 4216 was designated expiring because dismantling structures is part of intermediate rigging work and is now Outcome 6 in Unit standard 4215.

·      Two new unit standards were developed to meet the conditions of safe nets installation and working at heights safely, and for the installation of temporary structural anchors.

·      Unit standards 4212-4215 were reclassified from the Rigging domain (designated expiring) to the Core Rigging domain.

The Category D unit standard will expire at the end of December 2020

The last date for assessment of the most recent superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2020
