The ServiceIQ has completed the development of a new Museum Public Programmes unit standard.
Date new version published January 2019
Planned review date December 2023
Summary
It was drawn to the attention of the SSB that there was room in programmes leading to the New Zealand Certificate in Museum Practice (Level 4) [Ref: 2419] to recognise the special skills required for the planning and completion of art gallery exhibitions within museum contexts. An important component is the incorporation of the interests of a living artist, or the interested parties of a deceased artist in the creation, and evaluation of an art gallery exhibition.
A standard was drafted and after consultation with sector representatives and Museums Aotearoa, it was endorsed.
