Date new versions published June 2019
Planned review date December 2024
Summary
The Primary ITO has reviewed a number of unit standards to better reflect industry needs and to meet the requirements of the outcomes listed in the New Zealand Certificate in Commercial Fishing (Level 4) [Ref: 3132].
There are a number of organisations with consent to assess by level, as well as individual unit standards. These organisations had the opportunity to review the relevant unit standards and offer feedback. This consultation was carried out by email in March 2019. All feedback was actioned where appropriate.
Main changes
· In total, 24 unit standards were reviewed to reflect current industry practices.
· 9 unit standards were designated expiring without replacement as they were no longer required.
· A new unit standard was developed to meet the needs of the industry.
· Titles of some unit standards were changed to fully represent the outcomes of the units.
· Credit values were decreased for unit standards 17952,19438, 22748 to reflect the time taken to learn, practice the skills, and be assessed.
Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2020
