Summary
Unit standards were initially reviewed by the Working Group which was made up of industry representatives as well a representative from the Poultry Industry Association (PIANZ) during July – September 2018. Revised unit standards were sent out to the wider industry, covering all sectors for feedback in February 2019. Changes were incorporated where appropriate.
Main changes
· 21 unit standards were reviewed.
· The credits for seven units changed to more accurately reflect the time take to learn and be assessed for the skills specified in the unit standards.
· 10 unit standards were expired and will not be replaced as they are no longer required.
· One unit standard was designated expiring and replaced with a new unit standard.
· A new unit was written to cover the requirements of layer hen care during egg production.
Category C and D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2020
