Summary
The purpose of the review was to keep the unit standards current and fit for purpose. The industry reference group identified changes to update legislation, guidance information, outcomes and performance criteria.
The review process involved face-to-face consultation with key organisations, Worksafe, the Environmental Protection Authority and industry feedback via email throughout July and August 2019.
Main changes
· Six unit standards were reviewed to update the unit standard template, guidance information and industry legislation.
· Unit standard outcomes, performance criteria, and range statements were amended to reflect current industry practice.
· The level of unit standard 23617 was increased from 3 to 4 to better reflect the complexity of outcomes.
· Credit totals were updated to reflect the time taken to learn, practice the skills, and be assessed.
