The Primary ITO has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published October 2019
Planned review date December 2024
Summary
These unit standards were reviewed to align with the review of the New Zealand Certificate in Artificial Insemination of Livestock (Level 4) [Ref: 2467]. The unit standards were reviewed concurrent with qualification review in May 2019 and all stakeholders had the opportunity to provide feedback. Unit standards were updated where appropriate.
Main changes
· Unit standard 21757 was expired without replacement as, due to health and safety legislation changes, the artificial insemination technician is no longer required to physically handle cattle.
· Credits increased for unit standard 7411 to better reflect the time taken to learn, practice and be assessed for the skills specified in the unit standard.
· The title of unit standard 7411 was updated to better reflect the unit standard content.
· An additional outcome on cattle behaviour was added to unit standard 25714 to reflect industry requirements and, therefore, a replacement unit ID was required as the outcome and credits changed.
Category C and D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2020
