Summary of review and consultation process |
|
The External Working Group (EWG) comprised key industry personnel who were representative of the industries involved with apiculture, Tertiary Education Organisations with approved programmes, and the Primary ITO Sector Manager. At the consultation meeting (23 August 2018), the EWG discussed the required sector-specific sections of the qualification under review. They acknowledged that wider consultation would include other relevant staff in their respective organisations. The members of the EWG at the meeting were well representative of the industries involved with apiculture. Discussion included the changes that had occurred and likely to occur in industry; and how well the qualification was meeting industry need. It was agreed that since the apiculture industry was heading into their busy season, that consultation should be delayed until the quiet time for beekeeping to ensure that industry personnel had the best opportunity to provide feedback. The revised qualification was therefore sent out by email for consultation to the wider industry including all members of the Industry Partner Group on 5 July 2019 with a three week turn-around time. Feedback on changes to the qualification was positive and no further changes were required. The members within the EWG, their roles held within their respective organisations, and the wider consultation provides an appropriate level of feedback to assess stakeholder opinion. |

Main changes resulting from the review |

· Minor changes were made to the graduate outcomes in all three qualifications to clarify intent · Conditions were removed for all three qualifications as these related to programme content · Qualification Ref: 2225 had outcome credits increased from 10 to 15 for outcome 1, and from 20 to 30 for outcome 2, to reflect the time taken to achieve the outcomes. This resulted in the total credits for the qualification increasing from 45 to 60. |
