Summary of review and consultation process |
|
The Māori Governance qualifications were scheduled and triggered for review in 2019. The NZQA Website was updated, signalling the Review and publishing Review Plan and Draft Terms of reference. The Working Group members that participated in the review represented programme providers, Tertiary providers, Māori Trustee Managers, Trustee Specialists, Māori Trust Facilitators and a representative from the Māori Land Court. The review hui took place on July 31-1 August in Wellington. The qualification review ensures the qualifications are relevant, fit for purpose to maintain relevancy across the governance sector. The review group for the qualification are listed below and wider consultation for feedback and comments was via the NZQA website for 4 weeks. |

Main changes resulting from the review |
|
Minor changes were proposed to the Strategic Purpose Statement to align closely towards individual learners as opposed to entities. Minor changes were applied to the Rangatiratanga Guiding Principle to encourage self-development and reflection which are integral components of continual learning. Cosmetic changes were applied to reword the Graduate Profile Outcomes to maintain consistency with instructional verbs relevant to level descriptors for Level 4 and Level 6. Education, Employment, Cultural, Community pathways information have been updated and revised for clarity and relevance in the Governance sector. |
