Summary of review and consultation process

An initial consultation meeting to review these qualifications occurred in January 2020 with the External Working Group (EWG), to ensure that the reviewed qualifications met all current and future needs.  EWG members had the responsibility of contributing their expertise to qualification updates as well as liaising with their networks on qualification changes over the duration of the review.

Throughout the course of the review there were follow-up discussions via Skype meetings and emails.  Qualifications were updated and agreed, and the final drafts were sent out in March for EWG sign off.

Updated versions of the qualifications were endorsed through attestation sign off in April for submission to NZQA.

Main changes resulting from the review

All qualifications:

· Minor wording changes were made to Strategic Purpose Statements.

· Graduate Profile Outcome statements were updated for clarity and currency.

· General conditions were updated to reflect current legislative and organic production requirements.

· Conditions were removed from the Graduate Profile Outcomes.

· The Employment Pathways in each qualification were updated to include relevant employment outcomes.

· The Crop Production and Livestock Production contexts were removed from the Level 4 and Level 5 qualification titles, and context controlled by programme conditions.
