Summary

The Skills Organisation, in partnership with stakeholders within the security sector, reviewed unit standards within the Security subfield.  The review was conducted through a series of face-to-face meetings throughout 2019 and the first quarter of 2020 with the intention that the reviewed unit standards would inform the assessment of the New Zealand Certificate in Security (Advanced) (Level 4) [Ref: 3643].

Main changes

• Legislation and definitions were updated.
• Performance criteria and range statements were updated to clarify evidence requirements for assessment.
• Health and Safety specific legislation appropriate to security work was added to all unit standards under the Security Staff Services domain.
• Three unit standards were replaced by new unit standards.
• Unit standards 21738, 21739, 22429 were re-registered with minor amendments to the performance criteria and range statements.
• Unit standards 21738, 22429, 25628 had title changes to reflect the content of the outcome statements.

Category C unit standards will expire at the end of December 2022

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2022
