Summary
The review of this unit standard was prompted by the outcomes of the mandatory review of qualifications, specifically the listing of:
· New Zealand Certificate in Sport and Recreation (Community Development) (Level 5) [Ref: 3572].
· New Zealand Certificate in Sport and Recreation (Programme Management) (Level 5) [Ref: 3574].
Feedback from stakeholders was gathered through an open consultation process and used to guide the development of the programmes of industry training for the qualifications listed above, and the development and review of the associated unit standards.
Main changes
· Five new standards were developed to capture the essential skills and knowledge of community development and programme management in sport and recreation settings.
· Eight standards were identified by industry as no longer fit for purpose so were expired without replacement.
