Summary

 

These unit standards were reviewed alongside the review of the New Zealand Certificate in Agriculture (Livestock Husbandry) (Dairy, and Meat and Fibre) (Level 3) [Ref: 2214], New Zealand Certificate in Agriculture (Milk Harvesting) (Level 3) [Ref: 2216], and New Zealand Certificate in Agriculture (Pastoral Livestock Production) (Level 3) [Ref: 2217].

 

Consultation was carried out in June 2019 where providers with consent to assess had the opportunity to give feedback via an online survey.  This feedback was addressed where appropriate.

 

Main changes

 

·      25 unit standards were reviewed and content checked for currency, and to reflect current industry requirements.

·      Unit standards 18199, 24549, 24550, 28921, 28922, 28923, 28924, 28937, 28938, 28940, 28941, 28975, 28976, 28977 were reviewed and replaced by eight new unit standards. 

·      Eight new unit standards were developed relating to milking dairy livestock, operation of a farm dairy, dairy effluent systems, livestock health problems soil and pasture management, livestock feeding and water supply, and care of young livestock at Level 3.

·      Titles and credits were reviewed and updated where appropriate. 

 

Category C unit standards will expire at the end of December 2022

 

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2022
