MITO New Zealand Incorporated (MITO) has completed the review and reclassification of the unit standards listed above. The unit standard that has been reclassified is listed in bold.
Date new versions published February 2020
Planned review date December 2024
Summary
MITO has reviewed unit standards to meet the requirements of the New Zealand Certificate in Reticulated Gas Pipelines (Level 3) [Ref: 3591] and to ensure they are fit-for-purpose for the industry sectors.
MITO was supported by the Gas Industry Reference Group including subject matter experts, trainers, employers and MITO representatives to review the standards. The standards were circulated to the working group’s networks, and a consultation period was held on the MITO website. Feedback received was actioned where appropriate.
Main changes
· Purpose statements, guidance information, references, outcomes, performance criteria, and range statements were amended to ensure they are accurate and fit for purpose, reflect the standard content and to ensure clarity for users.
· The level of several standards was adjusted to provide a better match with the NZQF Level Descriptors.
· The credits of several standards were adjusted to reflect the time required for learning and assessment.
· Two unit standards were replaced as they were no longer meeting the needs of industry.
· Eight new standards were developed; five of these replaced the two standards that were designated expiring; three are new.
· Unit standard 25610 was reclassified and credits increased from 4 to 6 to reflect the time required for learning and assessment.
Category C unit standards will expire at the end of December 2021
The last date for assessment of superseded versions of category B unit standards is December 2021
