Competenz has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published March 2020
Planned review date December 2024
Summary
These unit standards were reviewed during October 2018 and November 2019 as part of the review of the following qualifications: New Zealand Certificate in Binding and Finishing (Level 3) [Ref: 1816], and the New Zealand Certificate in Binding and Finishing (Level 4) [Ref: 1817], and the development of programmes for binding and finishing leading to these qualifications later this year.
The review was undertaken through face-to-face meetings with the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) consisting of industry experts, and via emails and phones calls with the industry.
All feedback received prior to and during the review process were incorporated in consultation with the TAG. These units have been endorsed for registration by the TAG in November 2019.
Main changes
· Unit standard 3652 was set to expire without replacement since it is no longer required by the printing industry.
· Six unit standards were replaced with two new unit standards to consolidate machine operation unit standards.
· Guidance Information was updated across all unit standards, including legislation and references, and the inclusion of workplace practices, job documentation, and job requirements in the assessment information.
· Credit values for unit standard 3659 and unit standard 27778 were increased to better reflect the time required to gain the necessary knowledge and skills to meet the outcomes of these units.
· The titles of some unit standards were amended to provide clarity and encompass all learning outcomes.
Category C and D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2022
Impact on Consent and Moderation Requirements (CMR)
