The Building and Construction Industry Training Organisation (BCITO) has republished the qualifications listed above.
Date new versions published July 2020
Summary
These qualifications were reviewed in July 2018 and replaced by the following qualifications:
At that time, the last date for entry into programmes was specified as 30 June 2020.
Both national qualifications have now been republished to extend the last date for entry to 30 September 2020.
This will allow tertiary education providers sufficient time to implement approved programmes leading the replacement qualifications.
Transition
The last date for entry into programmes leading to the replaced national qualifications is 30 September 2020.
People currently working towards the replaced qualifications may either complete the requirements for those qualifications by 31 December 2020 or transfer to a programme of study or training leading to a replacement New Zealand qualification.
It is not intended that anyone be disadvantaged by these arrangements; however, anyone who feels they have been disadvantaged can appeal to BCITO at the contact details below:
