National Certificate in Extractive Industries (Mining Administration Surface Extraction A Grade) (Level 5) [Ref: 1537]

National Certificate in Extractive Industries (Mining Administration) with strands in A Grade Tunnel Manager, and Coal Mine Underviewer [Ref: 1538]

 

New Zealand Certificate in Mining and Quarrying (First-line Supervision) (Level 4) with strands in Surface, and Underground [Ref: 2783]

New Zealand Diploma in Mining and Quarrying (Supervision) (Level 5) with strands in Surface, and Underground [Ref: 2787]

 

MITO New Zealand Incorporated has republished the qualifications listed above.

 

Reason for the republications

 

The National Qualifications listed above were reviewed during the Targeted Review of Qualifications and were replaced by New Zealand Qualifications. The transition dates of the National qualifications have been extended with the support of industry stakeholders, to allow the replacement New Zealand Qualifications to be implemented after regulatory changes in the industry have been finalised.

 

Main changes resulting from the republication

 

National Certificate in Extractive Industries (Mining Administration B Grade Tunnel Manager) (Level 5) with an optional strand in Coal Mine Deputy [Ref: 1535-4]

 

The last date of entry (enrolment) for the qualification listed above has been extended from 31 December 2019 to 31 December 2021.  

The last date of assessment has been extended from 31 December 2021 to 31 December 2023.

 

Credit for standard 28742 cannot be used as an exemption for standard 7142. This applies to version 1 and version 2 of this qualification.

 

National Certificate in Extractive Industries (Mining Administration Surface Extraction B Grade) (Level 5) [Ref: 1536-2]

 

The last date of entry (enrolment) for the qualification listed above has been extended from 31 December 2019 to 31 December 2021.  The last date of assessment has been extended from 31 December 2021 to 31 December 2023.

 

The last date of assessment for expiring unit standard 21154 has been extended to 31 December 2023 to align with the last date of entry for the qualification.

National Certificate in Extractive Industries (Mining Administration) with strands in A Grade Tunnel Manager, and Coal Mine Underviewer [Ref: 1538]

 

The last date of entry (enrolment) for the qualification listed above has been extended from 31 December 2019 to 31 December 2021.  

The last date of assessment has been extended from 31 December 2021 to 31 December 2023.  

 

New Zealand Certificate in Mining and Quarrying (First-line Supervision) (Level 4) with strands in Surface, and Underground [Ref: 2783]

New Zealand Diploma in Mining and Quarrying (Supervision) (Level 5) with strands in Surface, and Underground [Ref: 2787]

 

The New Zealand qualifications listed above were republished to reflect the extensions to the last date of entry and last date of assessment for the national qualifications which they replaced in 2015.

 

Transition

 

It is anticipated that no existing candidates will be disadvantaged.  However, anyone who feels that they have been disadvantaged may appeal to MITO New Zealand Incorporated at the address below.  Appeals will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
