Summary

These unit standards were reviewed as part of the development of the New Zealand Certificate in On-site Wastewater Management System Design (Level 4) [Ref: 4126], which occurred from August 2019 to March 2020.  Consultation occurred in January and March 2020 with stakeholders holding consent to assess against these unit standards.

Main changes

·      Guidance information was updated in all standards to ensure currency with industry knowledge and practice.

·      Titles for some unit standards were altered, as identified in the table below, to reflect changes in practice in the wastewater treatment industry.

·      Levels for some unit standards were lowered, as identified in the table below, to better align with the job role.

·      Credit values for some unit standards were changed, as identified in the table below, to more accurately reflect the learning hours required for these tasks.

·      Unit standard 25126 was designated expiring without replacement as it is no longer required.

·      Unit standard 25127 and 25128 had major changes that necessitated the registration of replacement standards.

·      Two new unit standards were developed to meet the requirements for risk management and quality assurance.

Category C and D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2022

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2022
