Summary of review and consultation process |
|
In 2019, The Skills Organisation conducted a review of the above qualifications. The review entailed a two-day meeting at the prison college of the Department of Corrections (Corrections). A wide range of subject matter experts, moderators, assessors, and union representatives across Corrections were invited to participate in the review. Overall, the group required only minor changes to refine wording and industry terminology to maintain currency. |

Main changes resulting from the review |
|
The review resulted in minor changes which included amendment of wording and phrases in the qualification to be more consistent with industry current practice. New Zealand Certificate in Offender Management (Level 3) [Ref: 2658]: · outcomes 3, 4 and 5 were combined into one with a combined 20 credit total; · conditions relating to the graduate profile were removed; · minor amendments to Qualification Specification section including information relating to Evidence requirements for assuring consistency were made. New Zealand Certificate in Offender Management (Level 4) [Ref: 2659]: · minor amendments to wording of strategic purpose statement were made; · outcomes 1, 3 and 4 were reworded slightly but the overall intent remained the same; · conditions relating to the graduate profile were removed; · minor amendments to Qualification Specification section including information relating to Evidence requirements for assuring consistency were made; · education pathway was amended to include reference to the New Zealand Certificate in Offender Management (Level 5) [Ref: 3877]. |
