Summary
Throughout 2018 – 2020, The Skills Organisation (Skills) conducted a review of the unit standards listed above.
The review process involved working closely with the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC), and extensive consultation with stakeholders in the civil defence and emergency management sector.
Main changes
· 17279 was designated expiring and replaced by a new unit standard 32158 to better reflect the skillset and knowledge needed.
· All unit standards were updated to align to the New Zealand CIMS (Coordinated Incident Management System) 3rd edition manual.
· Unit standards 29553 and 29554 were updated to accurately reflect currency. Both unit standards had titles, guidance information and their outcomes amended.
· Credits for unit standards 29554 were increased from 2 to 3 credits.
The Category C unit standard will expire at the end of December 2020
The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2020
