Summary of review and consultation process |
The scheduled review of this qualification commenced in 2019 and ran through to early 2020. The review included consultation with industry and sector groups, NZ Marine and Composites Industry Training Organisation (NZMAC ITO) board, technical expert, and assessors. Feedback identified the need to remove the Canvas Sail Making strand as it was unlikely to be used considering the advancement in material technology for composite sails. Consultation took place on various dates at NZ Marine House and the final draft of the qualification was supported by stakeholders and the management Board during the meeting. |
