Summary
Unit standards 28786-28791 from the Urban Pest Management domain were reviewed.
The review did not identify any significant issues with the unit standard outcomes; however, industry representatives recommended that the four theory standards be grouped into two new theory standards to better reflect work and assessment practice.
Theory outcomes underpinning communication and general industry knowledge were included in the new standard, 32251 Demonstrate knowledge of urban pest management. Theory outcomes pertaining to the regulatory environment were included in the new standard, 32252 Demonstrate knowledge of regulation and safety for urban pest management.
Main changes
· Standard 32251 replaced standards 28786 and 28789.
· Standard 32252 replaced standards 28787 and 28788.
· Titles were amended for clarity and to reflect changes to standards.
· The guidance information was updated to reflect current legislation, regulations, references, and definitions.
· Outcomes were amended to clarify their intent.
· Performance criteria were amended for clarity and alignment with outcomes. Qualitative measures which apply generally were moved to range statements in the guidance notes.
