Summary
Unit standard 31091 was reviewed at the request of industry, as it has proven not to be a suitable standard for contexts where practical demonstration is not possible. Separating the competencies will allow access to the relevant training requirements depending on the environment.
Consultation drafts were distributed via email to a network of stakeholders, the New Zealand Mining Board of Examiners and organisations with consent to assess. Feedback received was actioned where appropriate.

· Unit standard 31091 was designated expiring and replaced by two new standards.
This Category C unit standard will expire at the end of December 2023
