Date new version published April 2021
Summary
The above qualification was originally reviewed in 2016 and replaced by a new qualification to meet the current legislative requirements for real estate agents and managers. The replacement qualification, the New Zealand Diploma in Business (with strands in Accounting, Administration and Technology, Leadership and Management, Māori Business and Management, and Real Estate) (Level 6) [Ref: 2460] was approved and is available on the New Zealand Qualifications Framework. However, in the wider Real Estate 2021 review the Real Estate strand of this qualification has since been deemed not fit for purpose by REA, REINZ and the Industry Leader Group. New qualifications have been developed to better meet the needs of the real estate industry.
The above National Diploma has been republished to extend the last dates of entry and assessment. This will ensure that both existing learners can complete their programmes within a suitable timeframe, and that there is a qualification available for new learners to enrol in while the new qualifications and associated programmes are being developed.
Main changes resulting from the republication
· The last date of entry into programmes leading to the qualification has been extended from 31 December 2020 to 31 December 2021.
· The last date for assessment of programmes leading to the qualification has been extended from 30 June 2022 to 30 June 2023.
It is not intended that anyone is disadvantaged by the republication of the qualification, and the above arrangements have been designed for a smooth transition. Anyone who feels they have been disadvantaged is advised to contact the Skills Organisation at the address given below:
