Summary
The unit standards listed above were reviewed in consultation with key stakeholders, as part of a scheduled review, to ensure they were fit for purpose and to update them as necessary. Input and feedback were invited from all providers with consent to assess, via web consultation. In addition, Careerforce conducted face-to-face and virtual hui with key industry and sector representatives.
To ensure fitness for purpose, the consultation asked explicit questions around the relevance of language (phrasing, terminology, jargon), processes, competencies required from trainees and barriers to assessment. The review period spanned August through November 2020, at which stage the standards proceeded through Careerforce’s internal QA processes.
Main changes
· Guidance Information section was updated across all standards to reflect current industry requirements.
· Outcomes and performance criteria were amended across all standards to reflect current industry requirements.
· The titles of standards 1818, 23371, 23385, 28524, 28528, and 28544 were amended to more clearly reflect their outcomes.
· Wording was amended across the standards to reflect terminology currently used in the sector.
The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2022
