NZQA Māori Qualifications Services (MQS) has completed the review of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published August 2021
Planned review date December 2025
Summary
As a result of the planned standards review date, MQS along with the Wāhi Tapu Whakaruruhau, reviewed the Wāhi Tapu unit standards to ensure they remain fit for purpose and meet the aspirations and needs of whānau, hapū and iwi.
Main changes
The main changes that were made to the standards include the following:
· The level was increased for standard 6140 to better reflect the robustness and complexity of the Māori hekenga and whakanohonoho kaupapa.
· The credits were decreased for standards 27652, 21849, 28916 to reflect the removal of outcomes and to more accurately reflect the hours of learning required to achieve the standard.
· The credits were increased for standards 27483, 28917, 28918 to more accurately reflect the effort required to achieve the standard.
· Minor title changes were made to reflect level descriptors, removal of outcomes and for clarity purposes.
· Minor wording changes were made to some outcomes and performance criteria for relevancy, consistency and to provide clarity for ākonga and kaiako.
It is the view of Māori Qualification Services that these minor edits do not change the overall learning outcomes or graduate profile outcomes of the qualification.
