Summary
Unit standard 29155 reinstatement
Unit standard 29155 was designated expiring in error following an earlier review of unit standards in domain Primary Sector Core Skills.
Seafood Māori unit standard review
All consent to assess holders were emailed in November 2020 asking for feedback on the three Level 2 unit standards.
Feedback was received in December from Arai Te Uru Kokiri Training Centre. The unit standards are intended for use in Arai Te Uru Kokiri Training Centre, Whakamahi Whenua - Mahinga Kai programme in which there is a course involving fishing. Arai Te Uru Kokiri Training Centre also have a Manaaki Tauira programme which will start as a Gateway option from term two 2021 and will include the three these standards that are to be retained.
Feedback was collated from kaiako directly involved with delivery and potential delivery of the standards, tumuaki responsible for initiating and monitoring delivery within programmes, and academic managers responsible for programme design and quality assurance of delivery.
Unit standards were updated with feedback, checked by Arai Te Uru Kokiri Training Centre Academic Manager, and finalised in February 2021.
Main changes
· Unit standard 29155 was reinstated.
· Unit standards in domain Seafood Māori were updated with changes to titles, guidance information and performance criteria for use in provider programmes.
· Unit standard 17475 was reviewed and required significant changes, so was replaced by 32417.
Category C unit standard 17475 will expire at the end of December 2021
