MITO New Zealand Incorporated has completed the review of the unit standards listed above, which are coversheets for Australian Units of Competency
Date new versions published January 2021
Planned review date December 2025
Summary
MITO undertook the scheduled five-year review of several Extractives and Metalliferous Mining units. These units are all for the New Zealand registered versions of Australian Units of Competency. Unit 24477 was set to expire as this unit no longer aligns with the needs of industry.
These standards were circulated to the working group’s networks and organisations with consent to assess and a consultation period was held. Feedback received was actioned where appropriate.
Main changes
· Unit 24477 was set to expire without replacement due to a lack of usage.
· Titles of units 28739 and 28740 were amended in line with the Australian Units of Competency.
· The Australian Qualifications Framework Developer and Memorandum of Understanding holder with MITO was updated to PwC’s Skills for Australia (the Australian Skills Service Organisation for the Mining, Drilling and Civil Infrastructure industry sector). References, legislation and Australian Units of Competency reference numbers were updated.
· Purpose statements for units were updated to reflect changes made to the Australian Units of Competency.
· Units were shifted from CMR 0114 to CMR 0014.
The Category D unit standard will expire at the end of December 2023
