Summary
Competenz has reviewed these units as part of the scheduled 5-yearly review.
This review was conducted in consultation with Sector Advisory Groups and Technical Advisory Groups, consisting of industry experts, stakeholders and those holding the consent to assess that are using the standards.
Amendments and updates to these units were discussed at meetings that were held in the first quarter of 2020, results of these meetings were communicated via email to review participants, offering a further opportunity to provide feedback.
Main changes
· All unit standards, except expiring standard 25767 were reclassified.
· Guidance Information, Outcomes and Performance Criteria were updated to reflect current practices.
· Some minor changes to wording were made in some unit standards to improve accuracy and clarity.
· The requirement for pre-start checks was added to unit standards 9791, 9792, 18907, 18909, 25550, 25551, 25552, 25553, 25564, 25566 and 28734.
· The level of unit standard 16231 was increased to better reflect the knowledge and skill level required to achieve the unit.
· The credit value of unit standards 14995, 16231, 18891, 18893 and 18914 were increased to better reflect the skill level and time required to achieve the units.
· Minor changes to the titles of unit standards 18891, 18893, 25555, 25556, 25564, and 28735 were made to align with the updated wording in the outcomes and performance criteria.
· Standard 25767 was designated expiring without replacement as it was no longer required by industry.
Category D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2023
