Summary of review and consultation process

Consultation for the review of this qualification began in February 2020 and ended in April 2020. The review group included stakeholders from five locksmithing companies and a representative of the industry association for Locksmithing, Master Locksmiths Association Australasia (MLAA).

The consultation process involved a face to face meeting, online meetings and email correspondence. The consultation group confirmed that the qualification is still fit for purpose and all feedback was actioned where appropriate.

Main changes resulting from the review

The main changes from the review were:

• Graduate profile outcomes were updated for clarity of intent.

• Graduate profile outcomes’ conditions were removed in accordance with current New Zealand Qualifications Authority practice.

• Evidence requirements for consistency were updated to align better to the qualification graduate profile outcomes.

• General conditions for programmes were updated to focus on health and safety and accompanying legislation, regulations and standards.
