Summary
The Skills Organisation (Skills) and Ara Poutama Aotearoa, Department of Corrections (Corrections) reviewed unit standards to support unit standard based programmes for version 2 of the New Zealand Certificate in Offender Management (Level 3) [Ref: 2658]. Corrections is the main stakeholder and Skills have worked closely over the last 18 months with them to ensure that the reviewed unit standards are fit for purpose and relevant for current and future needs.
Main changes
· Unit standards 27292, 29065 and 29485 were replaced by unit standard 32778.
· Unit standards 29064 and 27290 were replaced by unit standard 32779.
· Four current unit standards were reviewed to meet current and future requirements of the Offender Management industry.
· Guidance information was updated to improve clarity and reflect industry best practice.
· Outcomes and performance criteria were amended to clarify evidence requirements for assessment.
· Two unit standards were no longer fit for purpose and were designated to expire without replacement in December 2023.
Category C and D unit standards will expire at the end of December 2023
