Summary

The Skills Organisation (Skills) and industry representatives reviewed and developed unit standards to support unit standard based programmes for the New Zealand Certificate in Electronic Engineering (Level 4) [Ref: 2981].

Eleven unit standards were reviewed.  Consultation occurred with industry representatives to ensure they are fit for purpose, current and relevant to the Electronic Engineering industry, and readily available for assessment.  Industry representatives provided feedback from their networks.

Main changes

·      Unit standards were updated to reflect the new template.

·      Guidance information was updated to refer to current legislation and industry best practice.

·      Outcomes and performance criteria were amended to clarify evidence requirements for assessment.

·      Unit standards 20712 increased to 7 credits, and 26725 increased to 15 credits, to better reflect the notional learning hours.

·      Titles of unit standards 20615 and 20715 were updated to better reflect outcomes.

The last date for assessment of superseded versions of Category B unit standards is December 2022
