Summary of review and consultation process |
The review and consultation process began in March 2020. The review group comprised of stakeholders from the Targeted Review of Qualifications (TRoQ) process, members included for their expertise in a specific field of Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Fabrication, and those that represented industry associations and polytechnic providers. Due to the Covid-19 lockdown the communication was via email and online meetings. The initial meeting deemed the qualifications were still fit for purpose after review of the Graduate Profile Outcomes (GPOs) and the Conditions attached to those GPOs. No substantial changes were required. |
Main changes resulting from the review |
General changes across the suite of Mechanical Engineering qualifications: · Graduate profile outcomes were reviewed for clarity and to meet current technical requirements. · Conditions relating to graduate profile outcomes were integrated into existing GPOs or included as new GPOs. · Additional graduate profile outcomes were developed to incorporate the requirements of removed conditions. · GPO credit values were reviewed and updated where required. Qualification total credits did not change. |
