Summary
The purpose of this review was to align five hydrography unit standards with version 2 of the New Zealand Certificate in Hydrography (Level 4) [Ref: 2958] following a scheduled qualification review. The industry reference group identified changes were required for the unit standards to better reflect industry requirements.
The unit standard review process involved consultation with the industry reference group, technical advisers, and stakeholders during February and March 2021. Industry feedback was received by email and technical adviser meetings.
Main changes
· Guidance information and legislation was updated.
· Unit standard titles, outcomes and performance criteria were amended.
· A practical outcome was added to unit standards 29227 and 29229.
· Credits were amended for 29227, 29228, and 29231 to include additional performance criteria.
· The term ‘hydrographer’ was replaced by ‘surveyor in charge’ (SIC) in unit standard 29230.
