Summary
As a result of the review of New Zealand Certificate in Horticulture (Level 3) with strands in Amenity, Arboriculture, Cemetery, Fruit Production, Indoor Crop Production, Outdoor Vegetable Production, Landscape Construction, Nursery Production, Post-Harvest, and Sports Turf [Ref: 2678] the Primary ITO reviewed Level 3 unit standards to better reflect the requirements of the updated qualification graduate outcomes.
As a result of industry consultation, amendments were made to ensure unit standard content remained fit for purpose. Consultation was carried out in February 2021 where consent to assess holders had the opportunity to give comment on the email sent asking for feedback to amendments. This feedback was addressed where appropriate.
Main changes
· Unit standards were updated to meet current NZQA unit standard template requirements.
· Guidance Information and performance criteria were amended to ensure unit standards content remained fit for purpose.
· Titles were updated for some unit standards to better reflect outcomes.
· Outcome 3 was removed from unit standard 831 because learners do not always have the opportunity to train and prune young and mature vines.
