Summary of review and consultation process |
|
A consultation meeting was held in early June 2021. Qualification stakeholders were invited to participate, including industry and providers who had approved programmes, to discuss and update the required sector specific sections of the qualifications. The qualification has had usage and any changes required were discussed with stakeholders. Changes were discussed and incorporated to meet industry needs and current technical requirements. Wider stakeholder consultation was carried out via email in late June 2021. Changes were incorporated where appropriate and agreed with by the External Working Group (EWG). |

Main changes resulting from the review |

New Zealand Certificate in Rural Servicing [Ref: 3520] · Changes were made to the Graduate Profile Outcomes to reflect feedback from the EWG that the original wording was too restrictive in terms of the roles of potential learners. ‘Technical field representative’ was replaced with ‘rural servicing representatives’, to enable the qualification to be used by a wider range of learners within the rural servicing industry. · The Employment Pathway was amended to include a wider range of career options for graduates. · Minor changes were made to Qualification Specifications to meet current technical criteria for listing of qualifications. · A definition was included in the General Conditions of Programme - ‘Rural refers to, agriculture, horticulture and other related primary industries. · Outcome 1 was removed as industry advised that learners were already engaged in Health and Safety training as part of their terms of employment. The 10 credits from Outcome 1 were transferred to Outcome 3 to allow for a wider range of electives to be included to achieve this outcome. |
