The Skills Organisation has completed the revision and rollover of the unit standards listed above.
Date new versions published September 2021
Planned review date December 2023
Summary
This is the second of three parts of unit standards considered for review in the Community and Workplace Fire and Emergency Management and Fire and Rescue Services subfields.
Between June 2020 and April 2021, The Skills Organisation together with Fire and Emergency New Zealand (FENZ) convened a series of working groups consisting of subject matter experts and organisations with consent to assess to review the unit standards that underpin the training provided to fire and emergency agency personnel. Those working groups examined all relevant unit standards.
Unlike Parts 1 and 3, standards covered in Part 2 have not undergone full review and were only revised to maintain currency and rolled over to suit the needs of the provider pending turnover and full review by the appropriate Workforce Development Council.
Main changes
· Unit standards were moved to the current template.
· Standard setting body was amended from Fire and Rescue Services ITO to The Skills Organisation.
· Minor changes were made to the content to reflect changes in terminology used in the sector.
· Guidance information, outcomes, performance criteria, and range statements were updated to reflect current legislation and practices in the sector.
· Title was amended for unit standard 20386 to better reflect outcomes.
· Planned review date was rolled over to 31 December 2023.
